Here's a review by Mr. Kurt Hogan: "I met Zion by chance one recent evening in a Hampton Virginia restaurant. As we exchanged pleasantries she mentioned that she was an author and had written the first two books in a sexually charged and romantic trilogy. As a writer/filmmaker myself I was intrigued, as I am often interested in the creativity of other budding talents, so I asked if I could read her work. I had a flight to Chicago that weekend and thought a nice read would pass the time.
No sooner than I was airborne had Zion's character's grabbed my attention and pulled me head-first into a sea of intrigue and finely drawn story lines. Her unique narrative style took me deep into the psyche of each individual as I saw their distinctive plots through each of their eyes, while the entire tale was brilliantly woven together in a wonderful tapestry of love, lust, desire, fear, introspection and hope.
The command of her craft was apparent from the first chapter of her first book. Her words are smoothly and tastefully digested, yet rather than leaving me satisfied, rendered me hungry for more.
By the time my plane was 30 thousand feet over Ohio it was clear that Zion is no novice. Pages turned handily with ease as I anxiously anticipated what marvelously expressed prose I would discover on each. And to my delight I was never greeted with disappointment.
Each character skillfully penned within circumstances so vividly depicted, as I read, learning their fate became my only option.
I found myself delicately untying the bow of a beautifully wrapped gift, and then tearing into the packaging the way her sexual scenes tore into my imagination!
Zion is an author to watch. Her words are gripping and hard hitting, while often whimsical and poetic and always filled with emotion. And she demonstrates her exquisite gift in both of her works. In my estimation she is the epitome of the kind of writer that clearly has a reservoir of much more to say, with a magnificently bright literary future.
After I landed at O'Hare and began the deplaning ritual, I interrupted the flight attendant in the midst of their standard "Bye-bye's!" and said to her "There is a new author on the scene who goes by the name of Zion. As you're lying poolside or on the beach this Summer, read her. You'll thank me!"
