Engaging Our Sons to Read: Reading Creates Possibilities
Facilitators: Patrick Oliver, Founder, Say It Loud! Readers and Writers Series; David Miller, CEO, Urban Leadership Institute

Hip-hop is prevalent within our community. Our young people strive toward music, sports, and some even focus on spoken word poetry. But how can we encourage them to read and notice that reading is empowering? You enter a new world; you are exposed to new wonders. Instead of playing the sport, own the team. Instead of writing spoken word, write & publish your book of poems.
